The Metabolomics and Environmental Toxicology (MET) Lab in the Department of Chemistry, Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to work on interdisciplinary research projects related to metabolomics, exposomics, environmental toxicology, contaminant fate, and transport, and (bio)remediation. This a multi-year funded position, contingent upon strong performance in the first year of employment and availability of project funding.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing and optimizing GC and LC methods to profile metabolomic content of complex samples (eg. serum, saliva, cell cultures, plant, and animal tissues)
Hands-on experience in computational mass spectrometry applied to targeted and untargeted metabolomics and exposomics studies using QqQ and/or MALDI-TOF
Experience in chemometric analysis of MS datasets using regression and discriminant techniques (such as PCA, PLS, PLS-DA, nMDS) in R and/or MATLAB
Strong research and peer-reviewed publication record
Prior research experience involving exogenous chemicals (food additives, hydrocarbons, halogenated organics, PFAS and microplastics) and/or endogenous metabolites
Outstanding leadership skills to guide graduate and undergraduate student lab members
