Code of Conduct
The safety, mutual respect for, and positive experience of attendees at MANA events are of utmost importance to us. Thus, we ask all attendees to abide by the MANA Meetings Code of Conduct at either in-person or online events.
Responsible and Respectful Behavior
All attendees including individual participants and vendors/exhibitors are expected to:
Treat others with respect and appreciation for inclusivity and diversity of opinions.
Engage in scientific discussions with humility and great respect for your colleagues, institutions, and ideas.
Follow the rules and policies of the meeting’s venue.
Unacceptable Behavior
Any harassing, abusive, demeaning, bullying, discriminatory, and insulting comments - including microaggressions - related to one’s sexual orientation, race, nationality, religion, physical appearance, and disability are unacceptable. Intimidating body language, stalking, and any inappropriate physical contact are also strictly unacceptable. The use of nudity and/or sexual images or violent material at the meeting, threatening any attendee or other meeting guest, theft and carrying dangerous materials, and unauthorized weapons are not allowed.
Reporting Unacceptable Behavior
If you observe or experience any inappropriate behavior, please contact either the session moderator, conference staff, or any of the MANA Officers/Board of Directors in attendance immediately. If you suspect a serious threat to public safety, please contact law enforcement.
Any retaliation against participants for reporting unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated.
Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior
MANA reserves the right to deal with unacceptable behavior strictly by involving the appropriate local security and legal bodies at any MANA event. This may lead to immediate removal from the meeting without warning or refund and a ban from attending future MANA events.
