Metabolomics and Precision Medicine Interest Group

The metabolome provides a readout for net influences of genome, gut microbiome, exposome diet and life style on metabolic states in health and in disease. The metabotype of an individual provides a unique biochemical identity that compliments information provided by the genome. The Metabolomics and Precision Medicine Interest Group seeks to accelerate effort for applications of metabolomics in Precision health and Precision Medicine by bringing close interactions among scientist in the field of metabolomics and in other fields including medicine, omics, data science and informatics. We wish to create communication channels to facilitate the incorporation of metabolomics data as a compliment to genomics data in informing about disease heterogeneity and treatment outcomes. We seek to facilitate interactions between academia industry for profit and non-profit organizations and governmental funding agencies to accelerate research in this field.
